Retreat, November 2024
On Saturday 9 th November, if Only… hosted our fourth retreat at the beautiful Othona
Essex. We welcomed seven wonderful women from across the country for a
weekend of connection. We began the morning by introducing ourselves and sharing
some fun and interesting facts. Following that, we enjoyed an art session led by the
talented Genevieve, where we learned the art of decoupaging some beautiful shells.
In the afternoon, we took a refreshing walk along the scenic seafront and spent
some quiet time in Othona’s peaceful chapel, a perfect space for reflection. After
returning from the chilly outdoors, we gathered to explore journaling and share our
experiences. There were tears, laughter, and a deep sense of understanding among
us. It was truly special to be in a room filled with women who genuinely understand
each other.
The day concluded with a delicious dinner, thoughtfully prepared by the amazing
Othona staff. We ended the evening chatting and reflecting on our time together
before parting ways. The weekend was truly unforgettable, spending time with others
who understand, without judgment, is really comforting. We all left with memories
we’ll cherish for a long time and a sense of belonging, that we can often find quite
difficult to find.
