Suicide is the act of intentionally taking our own life and can begin with suicidal thoughts
When we have suicidal feelings we have thoughts about ending our life or feelings that people would be better off without us.
As individuals we may have different experiences of suicidal feelings, some of us may feel less like we want to die and more like we cannot go on living the life we have.
These feelings may build over time or they can change from moment to moment, and often we do not understand why we are feeling this way.
We often think about what methods of suicide we will use and make plans to take our own Life.
Feeling suicidal is scary and confusing and extremely overwhelming.
Please know you are not alone, many people think about suicide at some point in their lifetime.

What you may experience
- Unable to sleep or poor sleep

- Urges to self harm
SUICIDE – the ending of your life
Today I read…
’They died by suicide’
It made me realise how important it is for us to STOP saying
’They committed suicide’
The word commit is often associated to a crime or doing something wrong, so why then do we put it before suicide?
SUICIDE IS NOT A CRIME
Why alienate those that are struggling with suicidal thoughts, making it harder for them to express how they are feeling, which then may cause them to withdraw into themselves even more.
Suicide is the last resort, and the decision taken by the person is because of the terrible pain and desperation they are feeling.
No matter how we feel about it, it is never right for us to judge others. None of us are ever able to feel another’s pain, not really.
So lets try to change the way we speak of others and remember, whether we think about it or carry it out…..
Suicide is NOT a crime
